FOSA USA is proud and honored to announce their partnership with Cosmos Copa as the Official Merchandise Provider of the 2011 Tournament.

Cosmos Copa was founded in 2009 and has quickly become one of the most prominent amateur adult soccer tournaments in the US. It is truly a wonderful event that brings fans of all ages and cultures together to support their local teams and countries.

The qualifier rounds, held at the Parade Grounds in Brooklyn, kicked off June 18th and continued throughout that weekend. 22 countries then competed for the remaining 8 spots of the official tournament which kicked off July 9th in Staten Island. In waiting were the 8 Elite Teams that had already secured their spot from top finishes in previous years. They are NYC Ecuador, NYC England, NYC Greece, NYC Haiti, NYC Ireland, NYC Jamaica, NYC Mexico and the defending Champions NYC Poland.

The finals are slated to be held in Corona Park, Queens on Sunday, July 24th. See full schedule .

The Easter Bunny was working late last night at FOSA USA headquarters making sure his batch of FOSA USA Easter Shirts were ready in time for the weekend. He’s a big fan of soccer and was thrilled when we approached him with the idea.

These shirts are as elusive as the Easter Bunny himself; There’s only a limited number of them on sale this week online and at Upper90 Soccer + Sport in NYC. Get them while they last, these shirts will never be reproduced!!!

So what do you do when you want to play soccer but the temperature outside is hot enough to melt your ball?  You build fake clouds of course, duh.

That’s exactly what Qatar plans to do for the 2022 World Cup in an attempt to counteract 122 degree daytime temperatures.  Scientist and Planners are toying around with what is essentially a massive helium-filled blimp to hover over stadiums providing some much needed relief to fans and players. 

The only crazier idea was FIFA President SEPP BLATTER’s lobby attempt to move the games to the winter months so relatively speaking this isn’t such a bad idea.

You’ve really got to hand it to FIFA thus far; the 2022 Qatar World Cup is over 4000 days away and the press for this cup hasn’t stopped since the country won the first Middle Eastern World Cup back in December.
